Why stay here ...

Set in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales countryside, Sleepy Hollow offers generous 7m (21ft) hardstanding pitches — ideal for caravans, motorhomes and campervans with awnings. Every pitch has its own electric hook-up, and the site is equipped with a toilet, shower and outdoor pot-wash area with hot water.

In summer and autumn, guests are welcome to stroll up through our meadow fields to take in breathtaking views across the valley — a perfect early morning or evening walk with the dogs. Settle on the bench at the top and watch the sun sink over Carsington Water.

Getting Around
The pretty market town of Wirksworth is just a mile's walk away, and a bus stop at the bottom of our lane (200m from site) connects you to Ashbourne via Carsington Water, or Matlock via Wirksworth 4 x daily — no car needed.

Explore Wirksworth
Wirksworth is full of character and surprises. Discover the Ecclesbourne Valley Steam Railway, the National Stone Centre, the famous star disc and the Hidden Garden. The town has a thriving arts and crafts scene, with boutique galleries, independent shops and welcoming coffee shops and a French bistro for when you need to recharge. For evenings out, there's something for everyone — real ale pubs, live music venues and great food, many of them dog-friendly. A Co-op with fuel station and cash machines mean you're never short of essentials, and a good range of takeaways rounds things off nicely.

Outdoor Adventures
Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice. The High Peak Trail starts just a mile away at Middleton Top, where bike hire is also available. Carsington Water — a beautiful reservoir — is half a mile from the site, with walking, cycling and running routes around it and a waterside restaurant, The Main Sail, at the visitor centre.

Day Trips & History
Just five minutes further afield, Cromford is home to Richard Arkwright's historic mills — a fascinating window into the area's industrial heritage — and the legendary Scarthin Books, one of England's most beloved independent bookshops (don't miss the café and its excellent cakes). Matlock, Belper, Ashbourne and Bakewell are all within easy reach, as are the grand historic houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall.

Well-behaved children and dogs are always welcome. We look forward to having you
