Why stay here ...

This small family run site is set in the delightfully scenic Valais region. Camping Gemmi offers stunning mountain views from its grassy pitches. The grounds are well kept and the amenities are clean and tidy, although disabled facilities and getting around the site is limited.

The owners speak a little English and onsite only cash is accepted.

Fresh bread can be ordered every morning and there is a small but very popular onsite restaurant and bar and a take away cabin in the evenings which is used by the locals as well as onsite guests. It can be busy until it closes at 22.00 in the evening.

With the famous Matterhorn and the resort of Zermatt nearby, the site is located near some of Switzerland's best mountain scenery. The small village of Leukerbad is worth a visit and a trip to the nearby town of Sion with its twin castles comes highly recommended. There are also numerous hiking paths in the local area and it's a good stop over for heading further into Switzerland.

Onsite, dogs are allowed on the pitches but guests are not allowed to walk the dogs around the site, they are asked to walk dogs off site and use the free poo bags provided on the street. Dogs are also not allowed in the shop or the showers.
