Greets Farm Campsite offers adults-only camping less than three miles from iconic stately home Castle Howard, in the heart of North Yorkshire. We are regularly top-rated by guests who appreciate its calm atmosphere, friendly welcome and perfect balance between countryside seclusion and convenient location.
Tucked away on our small family farm in the stunning Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our CL is a two-acre certificated site offering open countryside views - with the added bonus of being just a mile`s easy stroll from the charming village of Welburn.
Our site has been welcoming guests for over 15 years. It has a traditional feel ideal for those seeking a slower pace of life. Visitors love the rural farm feel - sheep grazing in neighbouring fields and views stretching towards Castle Howard in the distance - yet without feeling cut off from good food, local attractions and excellent transport links.
A pleasant walk takes you to Welburn`s friendly, dog-welcoming pub, The Crown & Cushion, and the much-loved artisan bakery and cafe, Dogh - perfect for a morning coffee and warm pastries. Many guests make this part of their daily routine when staying with us.
Just three miles away stands magnificent Castle Howard, famously featured as a location for many films and television programmes such a Bridgerton. Also worth discovering is the Yorkshire Arboretum, which is an absolute delight and home to a growing family of red squirrels.
The surrounding Howardian Hills are criss-crossed with footpaths and bridleways, linking picturesque villages such as Terrington - home to the Yorkshire Lavender Farm.
The thriving market town of Malton - known as Yorkshire`s food capital - is just five miles away, packed with independent shops, eateries and food events. On its outskirts you`ll find the award-winning Eden Camp Modern History Museum, set on a former prisoner-of-war camp offering a unique step back in time.
For a change of pace, the historic city of York lies only 13 miles away. Many campers take advantage of the excellent Yorkshire Coastliner double-decker service from the nearby bus stop - allowing you to enjoy lunch (and perhaps a glass of wine) within York`s ancient city walls without the worry of parking or traffic.
The North York Moors and Yorkshire Coast are also within easy reach for memorable day trips.
